PURPOSE: SCF is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information of its donors, employees, volunteers and other stakeholders. SCF values the trust of the public and those we deal with and recognizes that maintaining this trust requires that we be transparent and accountable in how we treat the information that is shared with us.

Defining Personal Information
1. Personal information is anything that can be used to distinguish, identify or contact a specific individual, such as a person's name, address, birth date, e-mail address, and phone number. Personal information will not be rented, sold, or shared with any third party.
2. Where an individual uses home contact information as business contact information as well, we consider that the contact information provided is business contact information, and is not therefore subject to protection as personal information.
Privacy Practices
3. Personal information gathered by SCF is kept in confidence. SCF staff and volunteers are authorized to access personal information based only on their need to deal with the information for the reason(s) it was obtained. Personal information will only be collected and used by authorized personnel consistent with the activities of SCF. We take measures to ensure the integrity of this information is maintained and to prevent its being lost or destroyed. We collect and use personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in light of the circumstances.
