The Sudbury Community Foundation runs special events in the community every year. They are designed to help build our endowments, raise operating funds, provide grants to the community, and celebrate our work.

Celebration Events

Each year the Foundation holds a public celebration event at Tom Davies Square to highlight new funds and gifts and to profile the important projects for which local charities have received funding. Watch for the notice in our media. The 2011 celebration event was a complete success.

Special Events

Jazz Sudbury
In 2009, the Sudbury Community Foundation introduced Jazz Sudbury, to wide acclaim. Since its inception, SCF has hosted three Cabaret events and two very successful years of the Jazz Sudbury Festival. In its two year history, the Jazz Sudbury Festival has welcomed big names in jazz, including Oliver Jones, Ranee Lee, Michael Kaeshammer, Manteca, Alex*Cuba, Brandi Disterheft, the Lost Fingers, the Shuffle Demons, the Soul Jazz Orchestra, Kellylee Evans, Carlos del Junco, Elizabeth Shepherd, and more. Grassby Memorial Celebration
Together with the United Way Centraide, Sudbury Action Centre for Youth and the University of Sudbury Parish, the Sudbury Community Foundation Celebrated the life of Dr. James Grassby. It was a celebration of a man who spent a lifetime making Greater Sudbury a better place to live. It took place on Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Laurentian University's Fraser Auditorium.
