Community Grants Application Process

Sudbury Community Foundation has a two-stage grant review process. You are welcome to contact SCF staff to discuss the basic suitability of your project. The first stage shows intention to apply and lets SCF confirm registered charitable status of the project. Prior to your application reaching the Grants Committee, SCF staff will assess each application. This may include meetings and/or telephone discussions with the applicant as well as consultations with other funders and informed people in the field.

The Grants Committee is made up of volunteers who are community leaders and respected professionals with experience in grant applications and grant assessment. They review and discuss each application carefully and make funding recommendations to the Board based on merit and in light of the funds available. Applicants will be advised by SCF staff of the results of each stage of the application process.
